UNILEAD Projects

- University leaders in SDGs

- Engagement for sustainability

UNILEAD I

In 2022, MU coordinated the cooperation of 24 Czech universities in a project supported by the Centralised Development Programme of the Ministry of Education and Science, the common subject of which is activities for the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

In order to support the implementation of the SDGs and protect our society and environment, as actors from within Czech universities, we identified a mutually beneficial intention to act in a coordinated manner in the matter of SDG implementation, to share our experiences, to exchange available and functional domestic and foreign good practices, and to gradually form a voluntary set of recommendations for transparent and measurable expression of progress towards the goals.

The aim of the project is to strengthen the role of universities as "effective, accountable and inclusive" public organisations by ensuring more effective collaboration in the transfer of good practice in the implementation of the SDGs within the operational aspects of universities ("Resources for Change").

Within the key areas addressed, MU guarantees the cross-cutting theme "Responsible Purchasing - Public Procurement," and is a co-developer in the areas of "Waste, Prevention and Recycling", "Green Construction, Energy Management, Sustainable IT Infrastructure" and "Marketing and Communication" and is a co-leader on all other topics.

The output of the project is, among other things, a set of recommendations applicable by university management and their subsequent transfer into practice through the necessary involvement of internal and external key persons.

The final management summary provides an overview of the final deliverables from all areas addressed in the project in 2022.
