European Sustainable Development Week at MU
18 September 2024 - 8 October 2024
In line with its values, Masaryk University decided to participate again in the so-called European Week for Sustainable Development (ESDW) together with other public universities associated with the UNILEAD project. During the annual ESDW, a number of events and activities are held to raise awareness about sustainable development and our sustainable future. This year, the ESDW itself falls on 20 - 26 September 2024, but events that fall between 18 September and 8 October 2024 "count".
Below you will find both an invitation to a survey on "clean mobility", as well as a list of events taking place at MU during ESDW.
Thank you for your engagement!
Clean mobility at MU - where is the shoe pushing us?
In the context of European Mobility Week, which runs from 16-22 September (and partly overlaps with ESDW), as well as the forthcoming Mobility Code as part of MU's sustainability strategy, MU is organising a survey among students and staff to find out their commuting habits or the distance they have to travel to study and work. The questionnaire can be found in the MU Information System - IS (link to it below). The anonymised data on student and employee commuting will be one of the inputs that Masaryk University will use to calculate its carbon footprint and take into account when adapting the infrastructure to support clean mobility, including negotiating a joint approach with relevant partners.
In addition, all those who want to highlight more acceptable modes of transport and support the reduction of urban car use can actively participate in the Car Free Day event on 22 September, which is the culmination of the European Mobility Week.
Results of the survey coming soon!
