Who we are and what we do
We are an institution with a hundred-year history, consisting of ten faculties, educating over 30,000 students through 300 study programmes, employing the second largest number of workers in the region. By perceiving and directing not only the economic aspects of our activities, we can contribute to society-wide change. Especially as a university shaping the young generation, future leaders, consumers, parents.
Several individual workplaces are already in place (e.g., Institute for Sustainability and Circularity, Department of Environmental Studies FSS) or even entire research centres (e.g., RECETOX, CEITEC) engaged in sustainable projects. We now see sense in promoting their interconnection, strengthening cooperation, engaging student platforms, and professional external actors, and consolidating a stable base.
UNILEAD projects (University leaders in SDGs)
Since 2022, MU has been coordinating the cooperation of 25 public universities in interrelated projects supported by the Centralised Development Programme of the Ministry of Education and Science, whose common subject is activities for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
