Employees and students need to be offered opportunities and motivated to take action to promote sustainability at Masaryk University.
Masaryk University will engage nationally and globally in efforts to improve the sustainability and resilience of universities to achieve optimal solutions, while openly sharing its own experience and collaborating with partners from different sectors.

3.2 SOCIAL CONTRIBUTION ACTIVITIES
To create an exemplary community in the area of sustainability, actively using its expertise for community-wide action.

Objective 3.2: Act as a credible and strategic partner which, with its broad portfolio of professional, independent expertise and ability to clearly reach the whole of society, actively contributes to solving local and global challenges, raises new issues and cultivates public discussion.
Objective 3.3: Support altruistic initiatives initiated by students and staff aimed at the public through an open environment to help those in need, by developing association activities and by volunteering.
Objective 3.4: Act as a centre of social, cultural and sports life for students, staff and the public and to create platforms and opportunities for meetings and knowledge dissemination.
Objective 3.5: Strengthen the esprit de corps of the university’s students, staff and graduates and create a university community sharing common values as a basic prerequisite for fulfilling all university roles.
Measures: Promoting volunteering and its development within university societies or initiatives. / Strengthening communication within the internal environment of the university. / Providing information, advice and other services for students, graduates and staff. / Setting thematic priorities in relation to societal need. / Creation of a fund for socially beneficial activities and support of projects initiated by students and staff. / Valuation and motivation of socially beneficial activities of academic, scientific and non-academic staff as part of their professional portfolio, support of student projects of a socially beneficial nature and motivation to implement these activities, for example, by symbolic amount of credits in designated courses. / Implementation of a wide range of educational, awareness-raising, advisory and beneficial activities. / Sharing the cultural heritage in the University's administration in order to strengthen the cultural role of the University and the dissemination of knowledge in relation to the public. /Institutionalization of cooperation with key actors in the region on priority issues and participation in addressing strategic issues (social, environmental, economic, etc.). / Cooperation with industry and companies, educational institutions, health and social service providers, non-profit and non-governmental organizations. / Acting in regional, national and international settings as a standard setter in inclusive policy. / Active participation in the development of policies, strategies and legislation at regional, national and international level, especially in key areas reflecting MU expertise.
