3.1 Internal Culture

Objective:

Together create conditions and opportunities for a cohesive and inspiring university community sharing common values in sustainability

MEASURES:
  • KNOW - educate and increase knowledge of sustainability principles among staff and learners through workshops, seminars and awareness campaigns, motivating them to adopt sustainable practices.
  • ACT - to encourage and reward participation of students and staff in volunteering activities, community initiatives and projects contributing to sustainable development, to support and develop the Volunteer Centre, ComMUNIty Fund and student associations, to create a platform for sharing knowledge and experience in sustainability among staff, students and the wider community.
  • INSPIRE - to promote healthy lifestyle and well-being through initiatives focused on physical and mental health, to implement and support activities and events focused on sustainability topics (e.g. Bike to Work, Giving Day, Let's Clean up the Czech Republic/MU, Swap events, ESWD, International Volunteer Day), to create and follow a set of rules for sustainable organization of such events and to emphasize the sustainability of promotional items, to strengthen cohesion and belonging to the university by, among other things, cultivating the indoor environment.
OUTPUTS:
  • Staff and students know and implement the principles of sustainability and support Masaryk University's activities to strengthen sustainability.
  • A well-functioning system of university community engagement, for example through the Volunteer Centre, the ComMUNIty Fund, student associations and an open platform for sharing and engagement.
  • Sustainability-related initiatives and actions are implemented according to approved sustainability.
INDICATORS:

3.1.A Number of activities, events and initiatives implemented to increase knowledge about sustainability;

3.1.B Existence and development of an open, flexible and accessible system of university community engagement;

3.1.C Percentage of events organised according to the sustainability standard.
