How to handle organic waste at MUNI

In order not to waste your time, we have summarized everything about the university waste sorting.

Prevention is the key

Being responsible when buying food (the quantity) and trying to use as much of it as possible (ideally all of it) is the best way to prevent organic waste and food waste.

Into containers marked with brown stickers:

Yes

  • Kitchen scraps of plant origin, food of plant origin, peelings, fruit and vegetable trimmings, kernels, houseplants, potting soil, coffee grounds

No

  • Eggshells, animal and dairy residues (meat, bones, skin, cheese, yoghurt, milk), cooking oil, all packaging, newspapers, nappies, handkerchiefs, cigarettes, excrement, cooked and cooked food residues, bags (even if compostable).
