How to handle glass at MUNI

In order not to waste your time, we have summarized everything about the university waste sorting.

Prevention is the key

  • Get inspired and give glass containers a chance for another use (food storage, watering plants, decorations, vases...).

Into containers marked with green stickers:

Yes

  • Glass beverage bottles and food jars (without beverage and food residues)
  • Broken glass, shards, other glass objects without material impurities

  • Just pour or scrape out the contents of the glass containers (they do not need to be washed)
  • Do not mind labels and vignettes
  • Return returnable bottles to shops

No

  • Ceramics, porcelain, cooking and laboratory glass, earthenware, light bulbs, screens, mirrors
  • Glass containers with liquid and food residuesPlugs, caps or closures (you can store them directly in the metals)
  • Broken glass baking dish made of cooking glass - this is special glass, which unfortunately is not suitable for material recycling, so take it to a waste collection centre

Thank you for helping on the road to a circular economy at MUNI!

Did you know that...?

  • GLASS is 100% recyclable, ad infinitum!na!
  • In Europe, up to 90% of green glass bottles are made from recycled glass.
