Sustainable events at MUNI
Masaryk University is preparing a methodology for organizing sustainable events, which will serve as a practical guide for all organizers of university conferences, workshops, team-building events, and cultural events. The aim is to reduce the negative impact of events on the environment and society while strengthening their educational and community benefits.
The methodology is being developed in line with the Sustainable Masaryk University 2025-2028 Strategy. Until the complete document is published, we are providing an overview of the main areas we are already focusing on.
Key areas of sustainable events
Venue selection and transportation
- We prioritize venues that are accessible on foot, by bicycle, or by public transportation.
- We encourage the use of shared transportation and carpooling.
- For events with international participation, we consider a hybrid (online/offline) format.
