Health and Quality of Life
Our focus is on the human being, his physical and mental health and quality of life. New knowledge, methods and technologies are contributing to the development of the concept of personalised and precision medicine, increasing the quality and accessibility of healthcare, as well as improving the prevention and protection of the health of individual population groups and the population as a whole.
Selected project - DECIDEHealth
Since September 2024, a five-year research project called DECIDEHealth has been underway, with the aim of creating tools for effective decision-making in the field of prevention and the provision of health and social care in the Czech Republic. The project builds on social science methods and knowledge and brings together experts from Masaryk University, specifically from the National Institute for Research on Socioeconomic Impacts of Diseases and Systemic Risks (SYRI), the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Economics and Administration, the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Education, and the Faculty of Informatics. The research team is developing a microsimulation model and an eHealth system that will enable the prediction of the health status of the Czech population and the implementation of preventive and intervention programs. The inspiration comes from foreign practice, where similar approaches have proven to be effective tools for improving the decision-making of public institutions and promoting the health of the population.
